Let the Adventures Begin!

As much as I would LOVE to say that I am perfect, and my cute married life is perfect, and being a photographer is perfect, I'm going to be real for a minute. It's not. Sometimes, I don't feel like doing the dishes. Sometimes, there is a psychotic bird that wakes us up at 5:30 am on a daily basis (thus making us both a tad over-tired, and for myself, maybe even a little grumpy in the morning) And sometimes, the lighting is horrible, it starts raining, or the memory card runs out of space! However, at the end of the day, as long as I've prepared myself well and tried my best, I feel like I have won. The dishes might wait until morning. Nic or I might have to get up and conquer the crazed coo coo clock outside our window. (Usually Nic, because he is the real MVP) And as for photography, I have found that carrying a back-up and finding the perfect lighting in a beautiful place is worth every little setback you may have.

This weekend, to celebrate one year since Nic and I "officially" started dating, Nic took me to a cute little cafe around the corner from our apartment. I'm regretting so much not getting a picture of it because it was ADORABLE and DELICIOUS! Afterward, we went on a nice long drive up through the Adelaide Hills. It was a little chilly, but it was gorgeous! As we slowly make our way into springtime, we are loving all of the life that has come into our neighborhood and the surrounding areas.

While driving through the hills, we stopped in a few beautiful places. We felt so refreshed as we got to breathe in the peace of all the nature around us. Nic almost felt as though he was right at home in the mountains when we came across some hillsides of pine trees. He was so excited to explore, that I almost had to drag him back to the car. Nic was also a terrific sport and agreed to be my model for the day. Bless his cute soul! Later on our drive, we finally saw our first kangaroo! Unfortunately, it was roadkill and thus we mourned it accordingly.

Our move to Australia has been a great one! We've had a few bumps in the road here and there. However, we have been loving our experience here thus far. Our adventure has just begun, and we can't wait to see where it takes us!
